Le Caring's AKC Dachshunds

One Year Vital Health Guarantee Contract

Feeding Directions:Your puppy is eating IAMS Proactive Health Smart Puppy 1-12 months. I recommend that you keep your puppy on this food for the first year, while under warranty. Generic foods can cause poor nutrition along with bad habits, like stool eating. A dry food is actually better for them than canned, as it also helps to keep their teeth clean. Your puppy will probably eat 3 to 4 times a day. Then follow feeding guidelines on the Iams food bag, as your puppy grows. He or she can be fed treats, such as IAMS puppy biscuits, in moderation. Please NO table foods or treats like Beggin strips or similar. If table food is fed, this contract warranty will be VOID. Switching dog foods, feeding table food or the wrong treats can cause a belly ache and or diarrhea in a young pup. The only other food we recommend is Eukanuba Small Breed 1-12 months. If you need to switch food, we must be notified by email or phone of the change or this warranty contract is void. In a rare case that either foods mentioned aren’t working for your new puppy, proof must be provided by your Veterinarian with recommendation to change the food, to what food and the reason why. I recommend your newly purchased puppy is seen by your Veterinarian within 5 business days or up to 10 days as stated in the Pennsylvania Puppy Lemon Laws, if you fail to comply to take your puppy to the vet within 10 days, you forfeit your rights under Pennsylvania state law.

Vet Care: Just because your new puppy has been vaccinated once for  contagious diseases, doesn’t mean that your puppy will be immune to diseases such as Distemper, Parvovirus etc. The only prevention to such disease is to keep UP TO DATE on their vaccines. DHPP vaccines should be given starting at 7-8 weeks of age and every 4 weeks until the age 14-16 weeks, then get their DHLP, then routinely once a year. Rabies vaccines should be given anywhere from 12-16 weeks of age, but not later than 16 weeks of age, depending on the area in which you live. It is unlawful to own a dog and not vaccinate them for Rabies. Rabies vaccines must be kept current. If you fail to keep your puppy UP TO DATE on vaccines and proper routine Vet care, the health warranty in this contract will be VOID. While your puppy is young, you should avoid taking them to places where there’s a lot of other dogs & puppies as they are still very susceptible to illnesses that may be fatal to puppies, but not older dogs.  Please take routine stool samples of your pup’s to your Vet when going for a check up. You should have your puppy de wormed every 6 months, even with a negative sample. Just because the results are negative does not mean they don’t have parasites. It is also unlawful to own a dog 3 months of age or older without a current dog license. In some areas, if you have your puppy microchipped, you can obtain a lifetime license for a little higher fee, only having to purchase it once. Your vet will supply you with a form needed for proof of the microchipping for the lifetime license. Your new puppy is partially paper trained. When getting a puppy in the winter, I suggest you use this method, especially on really cold days. It would only take a few minutes in the frigid temperatures to harm your new puppy.

Safety: You will also need to puppy proof your home, tuck away electrical wires and extension cords, pick up anything that they can ingest, such as bread twist ties etc. If it’s on the floor, they will find it! Please be careful with your choice of chew toys. Some are made of harder plastics and can break off, be ingested, causing an obstruction in the intestines. Often intestional obstructions, need surgery and this can be very expensive. An obstruction can also be fatal if not taken care of immediately. Soft toys are ok. Make sure they do not have buttons, plastic eyes or noses. If they have a squeaker toy and the toy gets torn open, take them away, the squeaker inside of them can be swallowed. Please keep your puppy in a clean dry crate when you are unable to supervise him or her, this is for his or her own safety.  Please use common sense when caring for your new puppy. A puppy is like a child needing proper care & constant supervision at all times. It's a big responsibilty caring for a new puppy; we wish you all the best.

Our Warranty:

I guarantee the health of your newly purchased puppy pertaining to vital organs such as heart, liver, kidneys etc; for (ONE) year from date of birth. If problems pertaining his his/her vital organs arise, please notify me by phone within 2 business days and mail me proof of the condition (certified mail) from your licensed Vet within 5 business days. You must return your puppy, before a refund or replacement is given. I will then take the puppy to my Vet (dead of alive) for further testing and a second opinion or necropsy. If the second opinion verifies and agrees with the puppy's condition or cause of death, I will replace your puppy, if one is available. If there's not a puppy available at the time, I will refund you 50% original purchase price of your puppy, and in good faith, while you’re waiting for a replacement puppy. When a replacement puppy becomes available, I will then sell you the replacement puppy for 50% of the purchase price. This offer is good for one year from the date of the return of the puppy. If the puppy is in deplorable, neglected or abused condition, this contract will be VOID and authorities will be notified. You must follow the puppy lemon laws when returning a puppy to me for any reimbursements or replacements. I will not warranty or take responsibility for anything other than a life threatening condition to which was declared a defect from birth documented by a licensed Vet. This warranty only pertains to the vital organs of the puppy, one year from puppy's date of birth. I do not cover baby teeth problem, such as a stubborn tooth that doesn't want to fall out. If you are not planning to breed your dog, I highly suggest that you have your pet spayed or neutered ASAP! If it is a male puppy being purchased for breeding, I will guarantee that his testicles are down & present at the time of sale, however, I will not guarantee the male’s ability to mate.  In regards to a female purchased for breeding, normally they have a heat cycle between 8-10 months. I will not guarantee that she will stand to mate. I breed for pet purposes only and do not declare any show-ability of any of my dogs. I can't guarantee the size or weight of any pup. The puppies are marked with AKC full registration, if they are correct by AKC standards and have no flaws.

Return Policy: If you become unable to keep your puppy please call me. No refunds will take place for returning an unwanted puppy or older Dachshund but, I can assure you that I would find him or her a good pre-screened home. We would never want to see our dogs abandoned or as a last option for your dog to be a dog shelter. Your dog has a much better chance to find a new home when brought back to it’s breeder, rather than taken to an over populated shelter with high possibilities of being euthanized. Your puppy no matter what age will always be welcome here and for whatever reason. I hope that it never comes to this; your newly purchased Dachshund pup will be a 12-15 year or longer lifetime commitment.

OUR PROMISE  TO THE CONSUMERS

As good breeder's in the South-West parts of Pennsylvania, well known for our dapples and most of all our good name. Barbara nor I Marilynn, would never want to ruin our reputation. It is our promise to you the consumer, that we would NEVER sell you a puppy that is sick. We have been fortunate thus far, that all of our puppies have been healthy. We will always be upfront and honest with you about your puppy. All of our puppies will be Up To Date on all Vaccines and Vet care prior to the sell. Dewormings are done several times at home and the final one is done at the Vet, along with stool testing, before pickup. If we were to notice something unusual about your puppy that wasn't present as a newborn, or whenever you deposited, you will be notified right away. You will then be given a choice if you want the puppy at a reduced fee, or want to pick another one. If neither of those options appeal to you at the time, then a  refund of your deposit will take place. I nor Barb couldn't sleep at night doing what some of these breeders do. We also would never misrepresent our dogs or our puppies in anyway such as in size, color, pattern or coat type. We have our breeding program down to the "T". I'm very educated on the genetics of Dachshunds. I've been educating Barbara for 3+ years on their genetics, color and coat possibilities. You will be provided with a copy of the Pennsylvania Puppy Lemon laws at the time of sale. See puppy comes with link to see everything else you will get with your puppy. ~Thank you, Marilynn Carraway & Barbara Laing~

A  SAFE AND CLEAN HOME ENVIRONMENT

We provide a safe and clean home environment. We are not a kennel nor over populated with dogs. We only have as many as we can care for and they all have names and know them well. Our dogs are spoiled, loved, kissed, hugged and cuddled several times everyday. Barbara's dogs surround her in bed everynight. Barbara only usually has one litter at a time. She uses her computer room as the setup. When the puppies are born she sleeps in the room with them on a fold out couch, to ensure good nursing and that Mom's instincts are good. When she feels that it's safe to go sleep in her own bed again, she has a baby monitor on them plus she keeps her bedroom door open to hear as well. Barbara starts her babies out in a baby playpen then, converts them over to this huge whelping box that is almost as long as the whole room. Barbara gets her puppies well socialized and for the most part completely puddle pad trained. When the puppies are ready for hands on, Barbara's grandson comes over and plays with the puppies to get them well socialized with children. Barbara does a great job with her pups and Dachshunds. "The Laing Gang"! Barbara enjoys having the puppies in her home and the fresh smell of puppy breath kisses! Barbara's whelping box has the puppies sleep area at one end and potty area at the other end.

Marilynn's puppies are raised in specially designed whelping dens (in my home), designed and built by my own 2 hands. I had a dream, and poof there it was! I built a double whelping den (2 identical sides) made of pine to accomodate two litters at once. I don't take on more than 2 litters at once.  My whelping den dimensions (one side) is 7-1/2 feet long, by 4 ft. wide, by 2 ft. high with  4 foot high surround panels around the back and the sides. This accomodates Mom and puppies from birth until the puppies are ready to go home. I put a nice bed in the back of the den then lay down paper and puddle pads. My puppies are monitored closely from birth to ensure good latching on (nursing) and to make sure Mom is doing everything her natural instincts tell her to do. My puppies are monitored also by Safety 1st monitoring system so, wherever I may be in the house, outside around my home I can hear them. Socialization starts from day 1 but, then comes the fun part for my boys..playtime. My boys and I play with the puppies everyday until the puppies get tired. I will take them to my bed and watch T.V. with them in my bed. They are socialized with my adult dogs. They are family members. I have told my customers before, which don't take this the wrong way.. They are my babies first! I enjoy them when they're here and miss them when they go home. I teach them to go to paper or puddle pads from the time they start walking. The puppies are wiped off after every meal (when they start eating solids), nails are trimmed weekly, weights are done once daily for the 1st 7 days, then weekly after that, update pictures are done weekly. They're  well kept pups, at all times. I'm constantly video recording them and taking pictures. My puppies have lots of toys, tunnels to run through etc. All of my puppies are confident on their feet and find their dancing shoes pretty quickly. I sing to them, we listen to music together LOL! I couldn't imagine doing anything else in my life but this! The Vet recommends us as credible and responsible breeders and WE AGREE!

Due to the fact of possible contagious disease, parasite and fleas. Our puppies do not go outside into the grass until they are vaccinated and old enough to use flea treatments. This offers you a pup that is guaranteed healthy and free of parasites. Most contagious diseases are not airborn but, contaminated birds do fly from yard to yard. You never know what may be lerking in your neighborhood, such as a sick puppy down the road or at the neighbors. We would rather be safe than sorry later. Worried about outside potty training? We have very helpful tips to convert your new puppy from pad to grass, it's very simple.
